Description

The tenderness and delicacy of the Jiangnan water town are perfectly displayed in this photo album. Women dressed in light gauze, strolling on the bluestone road, or sitting quietly on the bow of a black-sailed boat, each scene is as fresh and refined as an ink painting. In the drizzle, they hold oil-paper umbrellas, and the light gauze flutters in the wind, as if they are ladies walking out of the painting, with a touch of sadness and yearning for a better life.
